Coop is one of the largest grocery chains in the Nordics with a strong focus on sustainability. With thousands of Shoppa users across hundreds of stores, a custom product integration, and a group of exceptional in-store communication experts by their side, they now have their sights set on changing and improving the grocery industry.

Background
Coop used an older internally developed web-based tool for managing and distributing signage material from headquarters to all stores. Because the system was internally developed, it led to several limitations for further development. Over time, Coop noticed that stores spent far too much inefficient time creating and printing signs.
Another hurdle was the significantly limited internet connectivity in the majority of Coop’s stores.
Summary, Coop was very concerned about how their stores could effectively print and place signs and campaigns within set deadlines.
Challenge
The stores required a flexible signage solution that was easy to handle, cost-effective, and of course one that enabled anyone to print anywhere in the store.
The signage solution should also be integrated with the stores’ internal systems, but also with central business systems to enable retrieval of product information and prices on both a local and national level.
Goal
- Increase store staff satisfaction.
- Deliver in-store communication that was inviting and drove sales further in all Coop stores.
- Reduce the hours spent managing the signage solution in the stores.
- Enable working with Nordic products nationally in the chain but also local products municipally.
- Make it easier to create sign templates and be able to reuse material more effectively.
